Your Secret’s Unsafe with Mistine’s Cover All Foundation

Of all the foundations I tried, Fenty Beauty’s Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation remains at the top of my list. I love its velvet matte finish and its long-wear capability. Hence, those two are non-negotiable when I speak of my foundation preference. However, let’s admit it, Fenty Beauty’s price is considerably high. I think it’s priced over Php2,000 now. Its price point is the only factor that’s giving me second thoughts. As a result, I went to Lazada and tried to browse through countless foundations for sale. I found myself at the official Lazada shop of Mistine. I saw its Cover All Foundation and to my excitement, it has a velvet soft matte finish. Of course, I had to give it a try because I loved the Mistine products I previously owned.

The Mistine Cover All Foundation claims the following:

  1. Keep makeup for 24 hours;
  2. Control oil with its multi-powder finish and directional silicon bullet film technology;
  3. Maintain skin tone through its refractive color holding system;
  4. Upgrade the coverage and ensure that coating is not heavy; and
  5. Easy to apply with its cream powder texture.

Actually, this product is inspired by the Golden Triangle Makeup System based from Mistine’s Research. Specifically, control oil, keep color, and care for the skin. The Mistine Cover All Foundation is indeed very promising. Keep on reading if you want to know more about this product!

Makeup Breakdown: Mistine Cover All Foundation

Packaging:

The Mistine Cover All Foundation weighs 30 grams and it has a PAO of 12 months. Meanwhile, it has a shelf life of 3 years. It comes in a matte glass bottle that feels luxurious to touch. Also, it has a pump so it’s quite easy to dispense and control the amount of product needed. I think that the packaging is beautiful to look at. Hence, I’m keeping this on my vanity table.

According to its box, the Mistine Cover All Foundation must be stored in a cool and dry place. Moreover, direct sunlight or high temperature should be avoided.

Shade:

As of writing, there are four available shades for the Mistine Cover All Foundation. I hope that they will expand their shade range soon. For this review, I’ll try NN120 which is Natural Yellowish.

Smell:

To be honest, the Mistine Cover All Foundation smells nice. It has a powdery scent that’s quite addicting. However, it’s not that overpowering or intimidating. Also, I don’t think that it would be bothersome if you’re sensitive to scents.

Price:

I bought the Mistine Cover All Foundation at Lazada for Php367.63. It was discounted since its original price is Php740.00.

Application:

According to Mistine, this product should be applied by dotting it first onto face and neck. Afterwards, blend it evenly using fingers and sponge. Lastly, work downward and outward from center of the face and neck.

Firstly, I dispensed the product on my hand, then dotted it on the face. I used a wet sponge to blend the product. It was very difficult to do so since it sets very quickly. I had foundation residue in circular shapes and I honestly panicked. I tried to blend it using my fingers but the product did not sit well over my skin.

Performance:

Watch how this product performed with my 12-hour wear test below:

Verdict: I don’t recommend the Mistine Cover All Foundation!

Claims:

  • Keep makeup for 24 hours

I tried this product on for 12 hours. I did a lot the entire day and I was sweating because of the heat. The Mistine Cover All Foundation started to fade at the 3rd hour mark, and I observed it on my forehead where I sweat and around my mouth as I ate. Also, the foundation started to settle in my laugh lines. Hence, I believe that this foundation won’t stay for 24 hours on the face as is, unless set with powder and spray.

  • Control oil with its multi-powder finish and directional silicon bullet film technology

I actually disagree. As hours pass, my face appeared more dewy or oily-looking. Blotting and touch-ups are needed specially when one has an oily skin type.

  • Maintain skin tone through its refractive color holding system

I think that the Mistine Cover All Foundation is not able to maintain the skin tone because the shade I tried, apparently the darkest as of writing, is a lot lighter than my skin tone.

  • Upgrade the coverage and ensure that coating is not heavy

The finish of this product is sheer to medium, and one pump won’t cover blemishes. Although I applied two pumps of this product, my blemishes still weren’t covered. Nonetheless, this product sets quickly and it doesn’t feel heavy at all. There was no tacky feeling at all.

  • Easy to apply with its cream powder texture

I disagree that the Mistine Cover All Foundation is easy to apply. From my experience, it sets very quickly and it doesn’t sit well over the skin after blending it.
