Makeup Review: Ever Bilena EB Advance BB Foundation Stick

Another Blemish Balm (BB) Cream, particularly Ever Bilena EB Advance BB Foundation Stick, will be today’s topic. BB creams are well-known to target those unwanted spots due to acne, sun exposure and irritated skin, among others, while giving the skin a healthy look. The EB Advance BB Foundation Stick claims to glide smoothly on skin, creating the perfect flawless base. It also provides light to medium coverage which is meant to last throughout the day. The last BB Cream that I reviewed was the Moist Matte BB Cream from Maybelline and I don’t recommend it. Will the EB Advance BB Foundation Stick have the same fate, or will the verdict be two thumbs up?

I bought my Ever Bilena EB Advance BB Foundation Stick from Lazada for Php260.00. Since this is a creamy product, the PAO of this product is 24 months or 2 years.

Makeup Breakdown

Packaging:

The EB Advance BB Foundation Stick comes in a white plastic retractable packaging with a see-through cap which seems to be breakable. Its net weight is 6g, and is paraben-free and cruelty-free. The packaging also indicates the manufacturing date and batch number.

Its ingredients are the following:

Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Synthetic Wax, Cera Microcristallina, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Nylon-12, Polyethylene, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, May Contain: Titanium Diozide (CI 77891), Red Iron Oxide (CI 77491), Yellow Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Black Iron Oxide (CI 77499)

Other details:

  • Imported & Distributed by: Ever Bilena Cosmetics Inc., 246 Reparo Rd. Brgy Baesa, Caloocan City, Phils.
  • Made in China

Shade:

Currently, there are two shades for the EB Advance BB Foundation Stick: Oriental and Warm Beige.

I bought the warm beige because I think that it would suit my complexion the best. Oriental seems to have a pinkish undertone, while warm beige appears to have a neutral-warm undertone. It’s disappointing that this product has only 2 shade selection.

Smell:

This product smells chemical-like, with a resemblance to a dusty sunscreen (probably the weirdest I said).

Application:

According to the packaging, the product is advised to be applied through swiping it on and blending with a sponge, brush, or fingers. It also mentioned to apply more product for additional coverage.

Performance:

  • Upon Application (9AM)

This product is very thick and creamy so blending this with fingers may drag the skin. Its formula made me worried because I felt as if my skin won’t be able to breathe through. I don’t think that those with oily skin type would like its formula. It leaves the skin with a tacky feeling so there is a need to set this with powder. Also, it wasn’t able to fully cover my blemishes.

  • 3 hours after application (12NN)

After 3 hours on the skin, the Ever Bilena EB Advance BB Foundation Stick appeared more skin-like already. However, it oddly seemed to cling on my mustache (lol).

  • 6 hours after application (3PM)

Six hours after, my skin appeared to be drier and the textures on my nose became more evident. My blemishes were also more obvious.

  • 9 hours after application (6PM)

By this time, the BB Foundation has already clung on my laugh line, making it obvious. Blemishes remain to be obvious starting from the 6th hour mark. The textures on my nose were also more obvious.

Verdict: I don’t recommend this product!

Claims:

  • Glides smoothly on skin creating the perfect flawless base

It glides smoothly on skin when swiped, but during blending it was very tacky. If you’re on the go and plan to apply this with your fingers, it won’t be good for your skin. However, applying this with a sponge or a brush would be more appropriate. As for the flawless base, I disagree because it was not able to fully cover my blemishes and it clung on my mustache which was weird.

  • Light to medium coverage

I agree that its coverage was light to medium, but its thickness and formula made it off for me. It was too thick that it seemed like my skin won’t be able to breathe through anymore.
