My Top 10 Beauty Favorites for 2017
I gathered up my best beauty products for 2017. They were the products I cannot live without – starting from my first impressions and expectations, these products did not let me down and have stayed through all the tears, sweat, kisses and moods I’ve been through the whole year. No beauty products, at least from those I’ve tried, have taken their places.
1. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater
price: P655.00 on Sephora.ph
Having a normal to dry skin, I spritz this 3-4 times before I put my make up on for an instant skin boost. I also use this after I do my makeup if I see dry patches on some areas of my face or whenever my makeup looks powdery. It softens, refreshes and hydrates my face so well that’s why I love bringing this with me when I travel, especially when I’m going to take a plane ride which makes my skin look intensely dry. I love its sweet smell which may be overpowering for those who are sensitive to scents. However, the smell fades away after it has settled and dried. I highly recommend this mist!
2. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation
shade: 270 | price: P1950.00 on Sephora.ph
I admit I was a bit scared to use this foundation because of my combination skin, which leans more towards the dry side. This foundation shook my spirit. Of all the foundations I’ve used, this foundation was the only one which made me tell myself “I look pretty… I really look pretty!” This foundation looks velvety and soft and made my skin look healthy. It dries fast so I put 1-2 pumps at the back of my hand then apply and blend it by sections on my face and neck. I always receive compliments whenever I use this. This foundation does not leave a tacky feeling once it set so I don’t see the need to bake because it stays on my face for a good 8-10 hours. This has medium coverage which I go for in a foundation because I still wanted my skin to appear through. This is worth the price! Hats off also for the 40 shades available!
3. Colourpop No Filter Concealer
shade: Medium 30 | price: $6.00 on Colourpop.com
This concealer improved my makeup game. It blends so easily, does not crease, and works well with all of the foundations I own. Its formula is so creamy, it’s so easy to fall in love with it. I apply 3 dots of this under my eyes to conceal and highlight my not-so-dark under eyes. For some days when I don’t have time or just simply don’t want to apply foundation, I use this to highlight the center of my forehead, the bridge and sides of my nose and a little bit on my smile lines and chin, lightly set it and I’m good to go. Get this if you can! Please!
4. Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Powder
price: P1700.00 on Sephora.ph
I enjoy using this product to set my concealer in place rather than what it claims to do – to blot oily areas of the face throughout the day. On the pan, the powder appears sheer-pink, however stays translucent whenever applied. What I really love with this product is that it isn’t powdery at all. Even if I harshly dip my brush on the product, the amount I get is just right because it is well-milled. I don’t have to tap the brush to take the excess powder off. Instant flawless face, you say? Possible!
5. Colourpop Precision Brow Colour
shade: Dope Taupe | price: $6.00 on Colourpop.com
I remember I started with eyebrow pencils to make my brows on fleek, but ever since I started using this product, I found out that I enjoyed better and was more satisfied applying eyebrow product with a brush rather than drawing with a pencil. This product lasts on my brows until the 8th-hour mark and it’s easy for me to achieve what look I wanted to go for – soft, feathery, heavy, fierce or sharp. This product also lasted more than a year even if I use this 6 times a week because I don’t need to load my brush too heavily; a little goes a long way, darling.
6. Morphe 35O
price: $23.00 on Morphe.com
This product is so versatile. The warm eye looks that I made with this palette were limitless, but the matte formulas are powdery even if I just lightly touch it with my brush. However, I don’t need much of the product because it is so pigmented and easy to blend that I don’t mind how powdery it is. The shimmers and foils in this palette are amazing. I think the quality is beyond its price. If ever you wanted to have an eyeshadow palette, go for morphe if you can. It’s affordable but it doesn’t mean that the quality comes cheap. The packaging is also slim and light so it wasn’t a burden for me to bring it when I travel.
7. L’oreal Lash Paradise
shade: Black Noir | price: $9.99 on Ulta.com
My lashes are straight and could barely be seen whenever I do eye contact. I tried plenty of mascaras but this one literally made my jaw drop. This is so good that I always felt guilty whenever I try or use another mascara. My lashes *multiplied*, volumized and lengthened. The formula isn’t watery, but just enough to hold the curl without being clumpy. This is smudge-proof, fast-drying and does not give me panda eyes even if my lids tend to get a bit oily at the end of the day.
8. Milani Baked Blush
shade: Luminoso | price: starts at around P600.00 on Lazada.com
I tried mauvy, pink, soft red and other hues but nothing compares to how flattering peach is on my morena skin tone. This product, because it’s baked, lasts so long on my skin. It also has tiny gold flecks that looks so pretty when lit by the sun because of the healthy glow it shows. What I also like about this blush is how buildable the product is on the face, so I can either go for light, natural, or heavy. This has also been with me for so long already, I’m shocked that I still haven’t hit pan.
9. Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo
shade: Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby | price: P1950.00 on Sephora.ph
I’m more than excited and happy to know that this product offers an interesting array of shades; per compact, one delivers a natural glow and another is blinding. For an extra blinding effect, I start off with Mean Money then put Hu$tla Baby on top of it. I chose this shade because of Hu$tla Baby, peachy with gold flecks of shimmer, because I thought it was unique, beautiful and flattering for my skin tone. It didn’t make my bumps, pores, and zits obvious. It also has a buildable formula, so I could still adjust its opacity depending on my mood. This is so beautiful both on compact and on the face. I super love it!
10. Jeffree Starr
shade: Unicorn Blood | price: $18.00 on jeffreestarcosmetics.com
This is the most unique lipstick shade I own. It’s dark but I could still wear it every day. The applicator hugs my lips so well, and the formula dries matte, a bit powdery so it feels light, transfer-proof, and does not bleed, feather, or emphasize the lines on my lips. I only need one dip to cover my entire lip area. I even barely touch up because it lasts so long on my lips! Its smell is soft and clean, and a little bit delicious. I always moisturize my lips before I apply this for optimum color payoff and longevity, and to avoid it clinging to the dry areas of my lips. Two thumbs up, definitely!
LOVE THIS 💓💓💓
Wow. Very nice products!❤️
