Car seats expire, and hidden structural damage is real. But part of our nesting strategy was knowing when to run a strict safety audit to grab a rare, perfect opportunity. The internet noise when you’re prepping for a baby is so overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to fit a fortress into a cozy condo place! 😂 While building our nest, my husband and I decided to skip the aesthetic scrolling and ground ourselves in an intentional nesting strategy baby safety plan. 🕊️✨ They always tell you never to buy safety gear second-hand, but we ran a meticulous safety audit and found a rare exception to the rule! Here’s how we split our strategy to save space and our budget: 💸 Where we saved: We sourced a high-end Looping Sydney II travel system second-hand from a sweet neighbor in our complex. No two pregnancies carry the same weight ✨ A gent No two pregnancies carry the same weight ✨ A gentle reminder for the mama-to-be who is constantly comparing her symptoms to others: there is no perfect way to grow a life. Every single pregnancy is completely unique. We tend to think that if we don’t have the common or other’s struggles, we aren’t allowed to complain (or worse, we feel like we’re doing something wrong). My journey didn’t include morning sickness, but it brought swollen feet from the 20th week. I skipped the stretch marks, but met skin discoloration instead. My blood sugar is fine, but some days, just standing up and taking a step makes me want to cry out in pain. Your struggles are valid. Your pain is real. And your journey is yours alone to carry. I’m just so tired of hunting for clothes that are long enough to cover my belly, actually made of good quality, and guaranteed to fit perfectly through postpartum. 😮‍💨 Guess what? His closet ticked every single box. From his structured office shirts to his smart-casual tops, they’re all mine now! 🤭✨ I mean, why stress over retail shopping when the perfect oversized fit is literally hanging right across from mine?
