Makeup Review: Vice Cosmetics Water Gel Lip and Cheek Tint

Nothing beats the workout embedded in blending that eyeshadow on the lids. My heart always skips a beat when my highlighter makes me look so deliciously glazed. I always feel like I can do anything already with that perfect flick of the wrist to get that sharp eyeliner. What better way to top it all off with a hint of flirty feels which only eyelashes could give? I’m definitely a makeup lover. However, I will not deny the countless times when I was too lazy to apply anything on my face. Due to my baby-face, putting makeup on has become an everyday ritual or a necessity whenever I’m off to work. If ever there are times when you feel the same, the phrase “gandang pulbos and liptint” works definitely like a miracle. Of course, Vice Ganda Cosmetics is not new from this.

Vice Ganda approves of such phrase, because just a few days ago, he just released a lip and cheek tint that promises to give a gandang fresh (fresh look that’s beautiful). Vice Ganda is all about inclusivity in his makeup products. I’m happy to know that my moody and lazy self was not left-out! The product retails for P145.00 each and available at BeautyMNLViceCosmetics.com and Vice Cosmetics stalls nationwide.

Makeup Breakdown

Packaging:

The lip and cheek tint comes in a plastic tube. The tube is fully tinted at the top and has a gradient effect which allows the product to peek through at the bottom. It contains 3.5ml of products yet there was no PAO indicated. The doe foot applicator is flat. I find it a bit confusing to choose which tint to use upon looking at the tube as is. Thankfully, the shade names at the bottom of the tube is similar to the tint’s shade.

Shade:

The Lip and Cheek Tint comes in 8 different shades. There are red, pink, blush, violets, orange and scarlet which all look amazing and, of course, wearable. Just like Vice Ganda’s shade names from his liquid and bullet lipsticks, he did not come short of creative names for the tints.

You can check out my best friend’s vlog below to see all the shades of the lip and cheek tint when worn. Subscribe to her Youtube account. I promise, you won’t regret it! Lip swatches start at 3:45 mark.

Smell:

The product smells very fruity and light. It does not linger for long.

Application:

I had no difficulties applying the tint on my lips even though I did not moisturize my lips prior to application. As oppose to using a pure liquid tint, the tint applied evenly. There were no areas of concentration or clinging of tints on my dry patches. I liked how pigmented it is as well. There was no need to re-dip the doe foot applicator to cover my entire lip.

In the case of the tint as a cheek blush, I only needed a light amount of tint to achieve a barely-there flushed look. I had enough time to blend it on my cheeks. I think the gel-like consistency helped in avoiding the tint to set fast. Water tints dry faster than gel. Thus, this water-gel tint is definitely a win-win!

Performance:

  • Upon application (6PM)

I applied the tint in the shade F na F on my lips, while Beshie on my cheeks. I definitely love how the tint looks. It feels lightweight and opaque enough to give life back to my face. Also, the product does not transfer once it has dried.

  • 3 hours after application (9PM)

Though my face looks tired from work and dirty from taking the public transpo, the tint on my cheeks still looked quite fine. Though, after eating dinner, which was soup, fried meat and rice, the tint wore off at the inner to the center part of my lips. My lips looked as if it has lipliner.

Verdict:

Its first claim: gandang fresh look. I definitely agree to that. I loved how easy and effortless it was to apply the tint on my lips and cheeks. Same is through with its feel when I was wearing the product. It’s as if I was not wearing any makeup at all. This is the perfect product for us lazy girls and boys!

Its second claim: easy blending. As I have mentioned earlier, this water-gel consistency meant enough time to blend the products both on the cheeks and on the lips. There were no patchy areas on the lips, or obvious tints on my cheeks.

Its third claim: intensely pigmented and long-lasting. I swatched all the colors on my arm and the tints were true to color based on the color of their names at the bottom. In the case of its longevity, there was no wow factor at all. Almost all of the tints I own/ed did the same after eating – including the non-greasy food.

Its fourth claim: lightweight texture. I agree to this. It’s as if I didn’t have anything on at all!

Do I recommend this?

YES TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL!

This is definitely the BEST lip and cheek tint I’ve tried so far.
