Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion: The Best Long-Wear Cushion?

Living in the Philippines means battling constant humidity, and as someone with dry skin, finding a foundation that can withstand the heat and stay hydrated is a constant struggle. Here comes the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion, a K-beauty favorite promising long-lasting coverage and a semi-matte finish. It has been the talk of the town for months. Could this cushion really survive a full 12-hour day in the hot and humid Philippine climate, while keeping my dry skin happy? Join me as I share my honest experience, breaking down everything from application to wearability, and whether this red cushion truly lives up to the hype in our unique, humid environment.

Makeup Breakdown: Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion

Packaging:

Despite its bold red and eye-catching design, the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion’s packaging presents mixed impressions. While I appreciate the generously sized mirror and the soft, velvet sponge applicator, the drawbacks are notable. Its bulky form factor makes it decidedly un-travel-friendly, consuming significant space, and the lightweight plastic, though practical in theory, gives off a somewhat cheap feel. This product weighs 18g and has a PAO of 12 months.

Shade:

The Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion’s 40-shade range is a definite highlight, offering impressive diversity and tackling the usual shade-matching woes, even for those of us with Filipino skin tones. I personally picked up 21W Natural Ivory in a blind buy, and let’s just say, it wasn’t a perfect match! But, being the resourceful beauty enthusiast I am, I made it work.

Smell:

The cushion features a subtle floral powder scent. It’s not overpowering so I don’t think it’s something to be worried about.

Price:

On Shopee, the retail price is ₱1,110, but I purchased mine for ₱781 with discounts. Given the product’s quantity, I consider this a reasonable price.

Application:

The instructions on the packaging say to use the puff and gently tap a thin layer onto your skin. But I also do this trick I picked up from other cushion reviews: to first tap the puff on the back of the inner lid to prevent applying too much product.

Performance:

I put this product through a 12-hour wear test on a humid day! P.S. i didn’t retouch throughout this wear test! Watch the vlog to see the results.

Verdict: I don’t recommend the Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion

Claims:

  • Full-Coverage Perfection: I agree. Right upon application, I noticed this cushion gives great full coverage, which you can definitely build up from medium. It covers blemishes really well and blurs pores noticeably. Unfortunately, after 12 hours of wear, oiliness on my nose caused significant wear, though it remarkably stayed put on my cheeks even with repeated touching.
  • Hydrating Formula: For me, it was a bit different. I felt the formula was too thin and dried too quickly, making it hard to blend. And it really highlighted my dry skin.
  • Lightweight Comfort: I do agree, the lightweight feel is fantastic – it’s almost like wearing nothing. However, I’m not convinced about the non-cakey claim. It settled oddly around my lips and broke down on my forehead after 12 hours.
  • Long-Wear Performance: After testing this cushion on its own, I found the 72-hour wear claim unrealistic, especially considering the breakdown on my nose and forehead. I believe additional products are necessary to achieve that longevity. For oily skin or humid climates, an 8-hour wear time is more realistic.
