Maybelline Active Wear Concealer is a Proven Winner!

This Maybelline SuperStay Active Wear Concealer is one of Allure’s Best of Beauty Award Winner this year! I knew I had to get my hands on it and give it a try specially that it claims to stay up to 30 hours. Additionally, it claims to have breathable and lightweight formula that does not crease even if it has a full coverage matte finish. Hence, I expect it to give a smooth and skin-like finish, and stay for a long time even if I smile or squint. Lastly, it promises to defy transfer and be waterproof.

I hope this concealer will help me stay covered and confident for hours because I’m so ready to bid goodbye to my dark pimple marks. I got even more excited because it’s dermatologist and allergy tested and non-comedogenic. It’s vegan, too!

Makeup Breakdown: Maybelline SuperStay Active Wear Concealer

Packaging:

This concealer comes in a rectangular prism that feels very luxe. I like that you can see the actual shade through its body. You get a total of 0.33 fl. oz or 10ml. Mine is imported and distributed by LP Cosmetic Products located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. You’ll also see in its packaging its date of manufacture. Although its PAO is not indicated, this will be good for 1-2 years after opening. Lastly, it has a comfort-curve flex applicator making it easy to evenly apply the product.

Shade:

As of writing, there are a total of 5 shades in the Philippines (at least from Lazada where I got mine). They are 10, 15, 18, 20 and 25. Refer to the photo below to see the shades.

I got the shade 20, which is second the the darkest shade. However, I should have grabbed the darkest which is 25.

Smell:

This concealer is giving me plastic-like gelatin vibes. However, it’s just light, so it won’t be bothersome if you’re not that sensitive to smell.

Application:

According to Maybelline, the Super Stay Active Wear concealer must be applied thinly using the comfort-curve flex applicator. Based from my experience, it was very easy to apply the product because of how thin or lightweight its formula is. It blended well using my fingers. Also, it sat nice over a dry patch I had over my nose. It was a seamless application process.

Verdict: I recommend the Maybelline SuperStay Active Wear Concealer

Claims:

Up to 30 hours Full Coverage

I tried this concealer on for 12 hours on my face, and I did a lot of chores and even went out. I was really sweating a lot! Nonetheless, it stayed perfectly as is at around the 9th hour mark. If this is to be used on a normal day where sweat won’t be involved, then this product could stay even longer on the face. In terms of coverage, I’d say that it’s up to medium coverage since my super dark pimple marks weren’t fully covered. Yet, it did a great job concealing a bit of darkness under my eyes, and redness on the sides of my nose.

Breathable, Lightweight Concealer

I agree, I love its formula very much! It’s very lightweight, yet a little goes a long way.

No Creasing

This concealer actually creased a little bit under my eyes, so I disagree with this claim. However, I think this is not an alienated case since if you have natural folds on the face, there’s no exception to whatever product you use, really. Unless, it’s sealed with a setting powder and spray.

Waterproof. Defies Transfer

I tried to wear a mask and there was a little bit of transfer. I was still amazed at how minimal the transfer is, even though I applied two layers of the concealer.
