K-Poppin’: Peripera Airy Ink Velvet and Superface Zoom In Mesh Cushion
Since I’ve been missing in action for so long, here’s a grandslam makeup review on some of the highly-raved, top-recommended and definitely worth your money Korean makeup products! Here’s my review on the Peripera Airy Ink Velvet and Superface Zoom In Mesh Cushion which you can get on my CHARIS STORE!
Makeup Review: Peripera Airy Ink Velvet
Gradient lips were never out of style; so does the cult-favorite lip tint from Peripera that everyone loves – Airy Ink Velvet. I have never came across any negative comments about this product, and I wanted to try it firsthand to see if all the hundreds of thousands of reviews about this are really true! The lip product claims to:
- have a feather-weight feel which is perfect for gradient lips;
- provide a natural-looking color; and
- long-lasting softness up to 6-8 hours even after drinks and meals.
The PAO of this product is 12 months and the amount of product inside is 8 grams. It is available on my lovely shop which I assure you is 100% authentic. Check out my Charis store!
Makeup Breakdown:
Packaging:
The product is in a plastic container, with a matte-feel to it, with its cover looking like a dropper. Its doe foot applicator is bent and has a hollow in the middle so there won’t be any need to re-dip the doe foot applicator to coat the lips fully. The product also has a stopper yet I think that it could be enhanced. The doe foot applicator often gets more than the enough product for my lips.
Shade:
There are currently 10 shades for the Airy Velvets, and there are 5 shades to be added to the selection soon. Refer to the picture below for the shade selections.
For this review, I have the shades No. 06 Brown Orange and No 08 Glimpse Brick Brown. I have an olive or morena skintone and these two shades look flattering on me.
Smell:
The product has a light fruity scent to it. It lingers for a while.
Application:
The product glides on smoothly and adheres fast to my lips. I did not experience any tugging at all since the formula feels very smooth. There were no patchy area upon application, and after it has settled and dried. What fascinates me about its whipped formula is that even if it feels moisturizing, a bit oily when I rub my lips together, it still has zero transfer.
Performance:
The product stayed moisturizing on the lips for hours until you eat or drink something. The product did not feather or bled on the edges. Also, the intensity stayed the same on all the areas of the lips. However, after eating, the product has faded away on the inner-center areas of my lips.
Verdict: I recommend this product
The formula of this product has a whipped or mousy consistency. It’s not as runny as liquid lip products, nor gel-like. It looks matte when dried, but it feels moisturizing. You can’t even feel it’s there. It does not settle on the natural creases or cracks of the lips, and the shades deliver the perfect MLBB or my lips but better. The longevity of the product is on the average; it fades away after eating. Get your Peripera Airy Ink Velvet here: Yanna’s Charis Store.
I recommend this product because:
- it feels lightweight on the lips;
- it keeps my lips moisturized; and
- the shade selections compliment any type of skin tone!
Superface Zoom In Mesh Cushion
Raiza Contawi, Anna Cay and Anne Clutz recommend this cushion, and finally I get to test it, at last! The Superface Zoom in Mesh Cushion is unlike the typical cushion foundations where the product is in a sponge. Cushion puff is still the applicator, but the product is placed in a mesh or net-like container. The product claims to:
- cover any skin redness;
- add a healthy glow while protecting it from UV rays; and
- give a cool refreshing sensation.
The PAO of this product is 12 months and the amount of product inside is 12 grams. It is available on my lovely shop which I assure you is 100% authentic. Check out my Charis store!
Makeup Breakdown
Packaging:
The cushion comes in a 3-inch square yellow plastic container which has a magnet so that it would close. It has a mirror the size of its packaging and comes also with a cushion puff. The packaging emits a strong retro-vibes feel. What made me love this product even more is that it comes with an extra refill to it! Nice one!
Shade:
Shade selection is the weakness of cushion foundations made in Korea. From my previous review about the Missha Magic Cushion Cover Lasting, the darkest shade which is No. 23 is even lighter than my morena skintone. I was, again, surprised because the shade No. 02 Natural of Superface Zoom In Mesh Cushion is really for the Filipino skintone! There is no white-cast, it has yellow-undertone yet is not full coverage thus its ability to blend to either cool or warm toned morena skintones.
Smell:
The product has a light clean scent to it but it does not linger.
Application:
I find that my first dip at the mesh is a bit tricky. My cushion puff was able to pick up an oily consistency that has no shade on it. I had to push against the mesh a couple of times first before I got the foundation. However, I had no problem blending the product on my face. It does not set as fast as the Missha Magic Cushion Cover Lasting. It’s very tacky to the feel so I really need to set the product with powder.
Performance:
I received a lot of compliments when I wore the product, and most was about how fresh-looking I was even after hours have passed since I wore it. I never retouched even if I spent some of my days beside the beach where the weather is humid. It didn’t emphasize the dry patches around my brow area, and the textures on my nose were less visible.
Verdict: I recommend this product
Even though I don’t have any redness to conceal, what made this product a winner is because of its shade that suits the morena or Filipina skintone. Aside from that, it’s very low maintenance because of its packaging which is travel-friendly. The formula is really refreshing since its dewy yet it did not fade even if the weather is hot and I sweat. I super love this product!
