The Best Salon in Town: Janeified Salon
“Beauty is being true to yourself and not minding what other people say.”
– Jane Barnachea (Owner, Janeified Salon)
Straight cut, 2 inches shorter, semi-permed, or make-me-look-taller – the possibilities of styles are endless. Everybody could agree that hairstyles are very powerful. Hairstyles could add the right drama, hold your look together, or even tell your personality. There are times when we just feel like visiting the salon to freshen our look. It happens even when we don’t have any wanted or planned style. Sometimes, it could get overwhelming specially that trend changes at a fast pace. This leads me, often, to give the decision to the hairdresser. I’m left to trust and hope that everything will be alright.
I started to let my hairdresser decide on my hairstyle since high school. I had no idea what suits my face shape or flatters my complexion. It was one fine day and I badly needed a trim. I met a very gentle person who sways and talks so timidly. One could easily tell that she’s kind; her smile makes it undeniable. It happened at a salon that just newly opened. “It’s up to you”, I said in reply when she asked what cut I wanted. I remember it was a hassle-free trim. There was no tugging, or any awkward moment. The usual shampoo, hair trim and blow dry happened. I asked her name not knowing that it marks the start of my Janeified journey.
All About Jane
“Growing up, all that I dream of was to have a salon because I wanted everyone to be beautiful. Now that I’m given the chance, I called it after my name “Jane”. This is because I wanted people to know who is behind those amazing works.”
Jane has been taking care of my crowning glory for 9 years already. She did my hair and makeup during my graduation photoshoots, in high school and undergrad, and some other special occasions. I witnessed her journey from when she started. She changed salons until, finally, had a salon of her own – Janeified Salon.
Her journey wasn’t all highs and bright days. She had her fair share of tears and gloomy days. Jane is very much committed to deliver customer satisfaction. Whenever there are times when customers’ requests were not met, she retouches it with utmost caution. Other times, she just keeps quiet when there are some people who wants to pull her down. Jane learned that patience, creativity, positive outlook, and trust in self are key factors for success. She believes that her salon is different from others. Beyond her hairsprays and flat irons, her team could be a shoulder to cry on; a friend, a sister or a brother.
“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of success is not found on your daily routine.” – Jane
My Recent Visit: Hair Contouring
Earlier this month, I paid Jane a visit because my roots were looking ugly. My natural hair color, black, has grown 3 inches and it’s making me cringe. I told her that I want a smooth transition of my black roots to ash brown. I was thinking of an ombre effect, but she introduced me to hair contouring. Hair contouring consists of a base color and highlights which could alter or improve facial features. My face shape is circle and she mentioned that highlighting the front strands would elongate my face a bit. There are darker tones to add depth and drama, while lighter shades for enhancement.
Instances like these are reasons why I love Jane. She takes note of what I envision, and she recommends a bit of spice. She doesn’t insist on her idea, rather suggests and does her magic spells and tricks. I can say that she’s really a professional in her field. She’s been a Hair Professional for 10 years and she’s confident to handle any kind of salon problems. She and her team are constantly learning and finding new techniques. So, if you’re planning to achieve a hair color, or a healthy-looking hair, I recommend her very much!
Jane does home services for hair color and rebond upon request of client. The following are just some of her amazing works!
I promise that you won’t have any regrets. Pay her a visit if you can, and you’ll thank me later. Below are her contact details and address so make sure you check her out!
