Makeup Review: Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon

One of the latest local makeup brands, Issy & Co., entered the spotlight during the last quarter of 2019. Through acknowledging how complex life already its, Issy & Co. designed their products to be multifunctional. Hence, their makeup line will help you go from 0 to 10 with little effort that won’t even hurt the bank! I got so interested in it since I wear makeup every day to work. My first purchase from the brand is the Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon in the shade Skinny Dipping.

It claims to give the lips a non-glossy look, and it is expected to glide on smoothly for supple and full-looking lips. Meanwhile, when used on the eyes and cheeks, the Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon shall have a light pigment. Since the brand’s mantra is “beauty made easy”, this claims to be perfect for on-the-go touch-ups. Makeup Breakdown

Packaging:

The Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon comes in a retractable white plastic packaging. Its packaging is identical with the Ever Bilena Lip Define Matte Matic Lipstick. However, the Ever Bilena, although cheaper, has higher volume at 5 ml, while the Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon has 3.5 ml. The Multiuse Crayon’s box indicates its manufacturing and expiration date. Although there’s no PAO indicated, this product expires 3 years from its manufacturing date. The box also mentions that the product is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, and dermatologist tested.

Shade:

The Issy and Co. Multiuse Crayon has 6 shades as seen below.

For this review, I’ll try the one in the shade Skinny Dipping.

Smell:

The Multiuse Crayon has a faint vanilla smell which fades away after some time. So no worries if you’re sensitive to smell.

Price:

This product is priced at Php 399 and is available at the following online stores: BeautyMNL, Lazada, Shopee, and Instagram through Lumibella.

Application:

According to its box, the Multiuse Crayon is recommended to be applied from the inner part of the lips to the outer edge. Meanwhile, for eyes and cheeks, the product should be dabbed lightly and blended right away. The process may be repeated to get the desired coverage.

Based from my experience, the product is very creamy when applied and I have no problem blending it as long as I do so once it’s already on my skin. If you let it sit on your skin for a long time, it will set and dry matte, making it impossible to blend. I tried then to remove it with wipes and it won’t come off easily.

Performance:

Upon Application (8 AM)

When I tested the product, I applied it as an eye shadow, a blush and a lipstick. I really like how buildable the product is when applied on the eyes and cheeks. It was easy for me to get the right flush of color to achieve a natural look. Also, it glided on my lips so easily because of its creamy formula.

4 Hours After Application (12 NN)

After four hours, the Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon appeared to have faded a little bit on my eyes. Meanwhile, my blush is totally gone since it got rubbed off by my face mask. It would be helpful to set this with setting powder or a powder blush, specially if you have an oily skin type. As for the lips, the product has already faded on the inner part of the lips since I already ate my lunch.

8 Hours After Application (4 PM)

There was no more product on my lips after 8 hours. However, there still remains a bit of a product on the eyes. Based from my wear test, this product needs to be retouched every once in a while.

Verdict: I recommend this product!

Claims:

Allows smooth application for supple and full lips and provides the eyes and cheeks with a light pigment

I agree. The product is so creamy and it applies easily on lips, eyes and cheeks. Its shade payoff will not be overwhelming when applied on the eyes and cheeks. You can easily build its payoff according to your preference. This product will be very easy to use when you’re aiming for a natural look.

Perfect for on-the-go touch-ups

The Issy & Co. Multiuse Crayon is in a plastic retractable container that is lightweight and easy to carry around. Also, it won’t occupy much space. Since it is a multi-use crayon, its versatility can easily help you transform your look from day to night, or from one occasion to another.
