Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush is Your New BFF!
I have long been in love with makeup. It came with the frequent purchase of makeup products. However, as time went by, I became more and more conscious of what I purchase. Gone are the days when my bag was filled with all sorts of makeup products. I now purchase makeup less frequently than before and I found myself more interested in multi-use products. It has brought wonders basically because of versatility, and time and money saved. Yay also for a lighter pouch! Hence, I’m so excited to share with you my experience with the Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush.
The Velvet Flush is one of the newest products of Detail Cosmetics. It is co-created and formulated by two (2) beauty gurus – Mae Layug and Rei Germar. This product is a multi-use color mousse for the eyes, cheeks, and lips. It claims to be easy to blend, sets into a lightweight, non-sticky velvet finish, and lasts throughout the day. Keep on reading if you want to know more about this product!
Makeup Breakdown
Packaging:
The Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush comes with compact packaging. It is slim enough to fit perfectly in pockets. I really love that it comes with a quality mirror. The back of the packaging indicates the shade. Also, it says that it is made in Taiwan. Meanwhile, Cosmetix Unlimited Inc. at Brgy. San Antonio Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines distributes this product. Icons such as vegan, recyclable, and do not expose to sunlight are also indicated. Lastly, it weighs 8 grams and the PAO of this product is 12 months.
Shade:
The Velvet Flush has 6 unique shades specially curated to suit most skin tones. I purchased Bo which has a deep cherry brown shade. It perfectly complements my light-medium complexion. I just observed that the shade Bo on the pan and in the photos advertised differ when applied already. This, I believe, actually depends on the application. I’ll talk about it more below.
Below are the six different shades available for the Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush.
Smell:
The Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush has a faint mock-up vanilla scent. However, it doesn’t linger for too long.
Price:
This product retails for P249. It is available in Lazada and Shopee. I think that this product is fairly priced since it weighs 8 grams.
Application:
The Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush is enriched with Vitamin E, Shea Butter, and Avocado Oil. This explains why it doesn’t feel dry at all. Additionally, it is very easy to blend this product. I bid goodbye to fast-setting worries. Also, it did not cling to the dry areas on my lid. It has a cushiony mousse texture that feels very velvety.
Regarding my point earlier for the color difference in the advertisement and on actual, this depends on the application. I think the reason why this was named velvet flush was that they formulated the product to be not as pigmented when first swatched. Hence, this allows an easy-to-achieve natural flush. Nonetheless, this product can also be built up to achieve its real color payoff. Just keep in mind to exfoliate the lips!
Performance:
- Upon Application
I love how easy it was to build up the product. It blended seamlessly and a little product goes a long way. I loved it the most when I applied it to my eyelids and on my lips. If only I exfoliated my lips beforehand, it would look better. Nonetheless, it gave a youthful and vibrant flush that will work for everyday wear. There’s also minimal to no transfer!
- After 4 hours
I was very impressed with how this product held up even after eating and drinking. Although the velvet look and feel has lessened, it left a tint on my lips. Meanwhile, the eyes and cheeks stayed the same as when I first applied this product. I’ll definitely try this product out in the sun and try if it stays the same. I’m also curious about how this product will work at the 8th-hour mark. I’ll definitely keep you posted!
Verdict: I recommend the Detail Cosmetics Velvet Flush!
Claims:
- Easy to blend
I agree! There was no problem at all blending this product. Thanks to its cushiony consistency and moisturizing ingredients – Vitamin E, Shea Butter, and Avocado Oil, you don’t have to worry if you have dry skin like mine.
- Sets into a lightweight, non-sticky velvet finish
This product totally felt lightweight and non-sticky after a few seconds. However, don’t be bothered since its formula doesn’t quickly set that fast. You’ll no longer be bothered by patchy areas.
- Lasts throughout the day
For this, I am yet to test it out since I was only able to test it for 4 hours straight. However, even eating and drinking, this product has stayed put on the lips. I’m truly excited to test it out for 8 hours (or more!)
