Japan Honeymoon: Day 10 (Goodbye, Japan)

Ever wonder how you squeeze every last drop of adventure out of your final travel day—especially when you’re hauling multiple huge suitcases? Our last day in Japan was a masterclass in strategic moves! We started with a crucial power breakfast alongside suited corporate workers, solved the perennial luggage puzzle with a genius coin locker trick in Osaka Station City, and then dove headfirst into the massive Daimaru Umeda Department Store. The true grand finale? An unforgettable celebratory sushi feast where we watched our premium meal being crafted right in front of us. Read on to see how we maximized the fun, the food, and made a seamless, low-stress exit from KIX!

Here’s the day’s itinerary:

  • 10:00 AM: Power Breakfast at St. Marc Cafe Kitahama
  • 11:30 AM: Luggage Drop & Retail Therapy at Osaka Station City & Daimaru Umeda
  • 12:30 PM: Sushi Finale at Tsukiji Sushi Sei (Daimaru 14F)
  • 1:50 PM: Departing Osaka
  • 3:15 PM: KIX Check-in Logistics
  • 07:55 PM: Flight to Manila

Fast Fuel for the Final Day: St. Marc Cafe Kitahama

Our first agenda on our final day in Japan was to grab breakfast, and after we checked out, we headed straight for St. Marc Cafe Kitahama. This popular spot was only a hundred meters from our hotel. In fact, many corporate workers in suits stop here for their morning fuel. Additionally, the service is incredibly fast, and they serve up filling food that’s also generally cheap. Therefore, we quickly enjoyed our meal and energized ourselves for the rest of the day.

Shopping Sprees and Luggage Freedom!

Afterwards, we zipped over to Osaka Station City to tackle a major travel hurdle: our luggage! Luckily, we quickly found a spacious coin locker and stashed our two bags, instantly feeling the freedom. Consequently, we walked straight into the attached Daimaru Umeda Department Store. This place is massive, seriously! It was fun just wandering around all the amazing floors, checking out everything from high-end fashion to awesome basement food halls.

Our Grand Sushi Finale at Tsukiji Sushi Sei

Next, we made our way up to the 14th floor of Daimaru Umeda to find Tsukiji Sushi Sei. Ultimately, we realized that sushi was the last must-eat Japanese food we hadn’t ticked off our list, so we decided there was no better way to cap off our honeymoon trip than with a celebratory sushi feast! Therefore, my husband immediately ordered the Sushi Deluxe (Â¥2,530), while I splurged on the Special Deluxe (Â¥3,080). The best part was getting front-row seats to watch the chefs skillfully prepare every piece. Consequently, we saw just how fresh all the ingredients were, and that insight truly enhanced our enjoyment of the premium, absolutely delicious meal.

Smooth Sailing at KIX

Once we arrived at Kansai International Airport (KIX), we headed straight to the pickup stall to retrieve the three large luggages we had previously arranged for airport transfers. This smart move saved us a ton of hassle! Immediately afterwards, we needed to redistribute the weight among all the bags, and thankfully, the airport offers a designated spot where you can weigh and repack your luggage if necessary. After a quick check and adjustment, we successfully checked in our bags. We’re ready to go home!

End Message

Visiting Japan was once just a dream, something we occasionally dismissed because we thought it was too expensive. However, we made a plan, dedicated ourselves to saving, and turned that dream into a spectacular reality—our honeymoon destination! Japan wasn’t just remarkable; it was truly magical, a place that felt lifted straight out of the animes we watch and love. The incredible food, the kindness of the people, and the breathtaking scenery all gave us a deep feeling of being at home. Truly, this incredible trip serves as a powerful reminder: my husband and I will continue to dream big, chase new destinations together, and experience the world with the pure wonder as if we were kids again.

Japan, you were magnificent! Thank you, Lord, and thank you, my wonderful husband!
