not flawed, just a woman transformed 🌬️ Lately, I not flawed, just a woman transformed 🌬️ Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the silent expectations first time moms carry. When you enter motherhood, everyone yaps about the physical exhaustion. But no one really warns you about the emotional rollercoaster ride. One minute you’re looking at your baby with this overwhelming, tear-jerking love, and the next, you’re feeling completely overstimulated, anxious, or just mourning your old self. Hours stretched to days, becoming weeks, and I thought those sudden mood swings meant I was failing. I felt like I was losing my footing. But I recently read a passage that completely shifted my perspective. It reminded me that the dark and heavy moments of mothering exist side-by-side with the moments of pure joy and fulfillment. Feeling overwhelmed doesn’t erase your love. And being happy doesn’t mean the hard days aren’t real. We accept that big life changes take time to adjust to, so why do we expect motherhood to be effortless? You outdid everything I thought you could do. You stretched to hold a whole new life inside. You’re softer now, but completely transformed. You gained stripes; marks you’ll carry all throughout your life and proof of the incredible life you nurtured for 39 weeks and 3 days. The scar on your belly allowed to lift a blessing into the light, bringing a sound of life that changed everything forever. You grew stronger, softer arms, built to hold a blessing through midnight sways, soft shushes, and endless love. You endured. Even when simply walking felt painful, you embraced a new pace. Through every “I can’t,” “I’m giving up,” and “this is too hard,” you chose to push through, gracefully or not, because you had to. Not just for yourself, but for the little soul growing within you. You accepted that pregnancy would build and break you at the same time, but that just shows how incredible you are. You grew a human, and I will honor you forever.
